A leader in rethinking the way that we think things.

By Elizabeth Pollock

As Pablo Neruda states so eloquently …“the poet must achieve a balance between solitude and solidarity, between feeling and action, between intimacy of one’s self, the intimacy of mankind, and the revelation of nature.”

Enrique Lobo Biography

Enrique was born in Merida, Venezuela in 1958. He graduated form the University of Los Andes (ULA) in Merida in 1995. Between 1991 and 1994, he did graduate studies in La’Espacio Gralx Baragnon in Toulouse, France.

Enrique has participated in more than 60 individuals and collective showings in Venezuela, Colombia, France, Denmark, England and Spain.

In his work, the presence and the importance of forms reveals self-sacrifice, a ripping interior implosion. The body mass of his paintings, rise to the occasion, and expose a complexity of strokes that contradict each other but ultimately blend-in a harmonious contradiction.  Each element creates its own equilibrium and supersedes the others, which brings memories of Pollock and his automatic composition.
